Costume Ideas- Antagonist

Image result for ordinary teenage girl outfitThe Antagonist in the trailer is played by myself. We want to make the antagonist appear as innocent and vulnerable as possible, to help make the audience feel sympathy and be able to relate to her. So this means, that the appearance of the antagonist is going to have to be kept simple and ordinary to not marginalise her from other people the same age as her. Our antagonist is aged 17, meaning that she is stereo typically into fashion, reality TV shows, shopping and parties. This means that her appearance will feature bright clothing, but yet fashionable, featuring the presence of makeup and jewelry .

We want our antagonist to appear as simplistic as possible to make her be relatable towards the audience. Black or denim jeans seems to be a straight forward route to go down, they are easy to match with tops, and are an item of clothing that many girls at 17 years of age would wear. Trainers and boots are also stereotypical footwear that a teenager would wear. They are comfortable, and also seen as trendy which would help suggest a younger audience.

Girls often wear neutral colours at this age, we feel that it is often important that the colours our antagonist is wearing is not too overwhelming. This is because we want our antagonist to appear as vulnerable as possible, and therefore wouldn't be wearing really excessive clothing.

We found this image really helpful when trying to research what we wanted our antagonist to be wearing. We found this picture on pinterest, which was really helpful in finding out how to dress the antagonist. The main conventions that we found, was jeans, converse and jumpers. The hair tended to be in a simplistic pony tail, and a small hand bag was always there.

Through researching the appearance of typical teenage girls, it has helped to influence what we want the mes of our antagonist in our film. In conclusion, we have learnt that we want to keep our victim as simplistic as possible, to help express the vulnerability of the antagonist.
